Hi, I'm Kaylen

I founded Wondering Ways with a simple mission: to create a space where therapy feels like play. After years of working in pediatric settings, I kept coming back to one truth — children grow best when they feel genuinely seen, safe, and in relationship.

My approach is rooted in the DIR/Floortime framework, which means I follow your child's emotional lead and use the power of connection and play to build the capacities they need to thrive. I don't treat symptoms in isolation — I get to know your child as a whole person.

When I'm not in sessions, you'll find me exploring nature trails, reading everything I can about child development, and cheering on the families I have the privilege of walking alongside.

What is DIR/Floortime?

DIR stands for Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based. Developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan, it's an evidence-based framework that prioritizes emotional connection as the foundation for all learning. Rather than drilling isolated skills, we build the six core developmental capacities — from shared attention and engagement to complex reasoning and symbolic thinking — through joyful, child-led interaction. Every session looks different because every child is different.
